Flu vaccines are a way employers can offer employees a direct benefit that can be measured by reducing sick leave due to winter illnesses. Companies offering flu vaccines to their staff have minimised staff illness therefore staff are requiring less time off work. The Flu vaccine is a safe and effective way to prevent influenza. The flu vaccine can be given at the same time or immediately before or after the COVID-19 vaccine. There is no stand down period between the flu vaccine and Covid vaccine.

Some workers are at increased risk of exposure to hepatitis viruses due to the nature of their job. TOHS offers Hepatitis A and B vaccinations as part of our commitment to workplace health and safety. Hepatitis A and B are serious viral infections that affect the liver.

For employees working in healthcare, emergency services, cleaning, waste handling, or other high-risk environments, vaccination is a key protective measure.

If an employee’s hepatitis immunity status is unknown, a pre-vaccination blood test (serology) is recommended to check for existing immunity. This helps avoid unnecessary vaccinations and ensures appropriate follow-up care where needed.
